Going Private?

So I don't know of many people that read or even look at my blog... But lately I've noticed a bunch of blogs going private.... Why is that? Is it worth going private? I'm just curious of the pros and con's and why people are doing it so much lately? Thanks for the feed back....(If I get any)

We keep getting comments saying "Thanks for letting me use your blog for my college class" and weird stuff like that. so we went Private.

I noticed that I had people "following me" that I didn't even know. It made me feel a little uncomfortable. So, I went private. I don't like it as much, but i feel more comfortable writing about my family.

I'm going private because I'm getting a lot of spam as comments and "annonomous" people saying they have used my blog for college projects and things. Whether real people have used my blog for things like that, or if it's just spam generated from the computer, it was enough for me to go private. I've been thinking about it for a while just to protect Zack, and now I'm finally doing it. But look how long it took me?! So either way.... That's why I am! Love your guts! Oh and yes, I still love to read your blog! ;)

lets see...pro's: people from all over the world can't see your blog...
cons: people from all over the world can't see your blog :)

Basically the minute you post a picture online it becomes a free for all. So in all honesty, someone in India could look at your blog, see a cute picture, take the picture off your blog and do whatever the heck they want with it. So it's really just personal preference and if that sort of thing is something you're paranoid about or not.
Good luck!!!
If you do go private, add me please :) candice.mcwhorter@gmail.com

I have considered going private a lot. Some of my friends who have done it just do it to protect their family from weirdos. One of my friends was receiving hits from places out of the country where she didn't even know people. So, it was bothering her. Especially since a lot of them were posts with her daughter in them. It is just kind of a scary thought that random people are looking at your pictures and know all of the intimate things about your family. I always worry about people gathering random information that they can piece together and use to possibly abduct my children, especially if they know their name from the blog. But, that could just be me being paranoid. The only reason I haven't done it yet is because I believe you have to have a google account to login and view the person's blog. My mom's parents in particular don't have one and I think it would blow their mind to create one, so I have kept it open so they can still read everything. But, who knows, I may eventually go private anyway. You can never be too careful. :) Oh, and I read your blog - I am just bad at commenting!
